Allison's presentation provides insight into the technology behind real-time bio-fluorescent particle counting (BFPC), including the principle of operation and applications.

This informative presentation also highlights how BFPC supports EU GMP Annex 1 (2022) and further industry support and activity involving BFPC.

Allison has a Joint International Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Arizona, and Materials Chemistry from the University of Rennes, France, along with a BSc in Physics.

She has 13 years experience supporting rapid intrinsic fluorescence based microbial monitoring methods for air and water applications.  Plus 5 years experience facilitating industry working group collaborations aimed at supporting use of modern microbial methods.

Needle Free Infusion Bags

Ann Hogan, Accountable Pharmacist

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust

Ann is highly experienced in the aseptic unit and the provision of chemotherapies, she has been a key driver in campaigning for the use of closed systems and needle free infusion bags for cytotoxics.

This will be the basis of her presentation as we work through a number of interview questions to understand the reasons behind the use for needle free infusion bags, where it started and where she believes it is heading.

Ann has been in the NHS for 32 years and is currently the Accountable Pharmacist at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

Steven's presentation looks at the morphology of organism for your environmental monitoring and provides understanding in growth patterns and how formulation changes, such as additions of neutralisers and length of incubation, can effect morphology. It provides insight in the characteristics that should be accounted for to aid in the identification of organisms.

Steven Brimble is a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual having 33 years in the field of microbiology and quality across a range of industries.  He is currently Director of Quality and Technology for Cherwell.

The Future of Pharmaceutical Environmental Monitoring

This presentation gives Hamish's perspective of how the future of environmental monitoring looks going forward and what are the right questions we should be asking of our EM program and equipment.

Starting out as a Biomedical Scientist in the subject area of Microbiology, Hamish took his experience out of the NHS laboratory into private organisations where he currently works for Cherwell as a Product Specialist.

While working for Cherwell, he has used his microbiological experience along with learning and understanding the GMP industry especially in reference to Annex 1 and environmental monitoring.
