Cherwell set for expansion at new site
Cherwell Laboratories, the UK based manufacturer of the Redipor range of Prepared media products, has successfully relocated it's business to new premises in Bicester, Oxfordshire to meet ever increasing demand.
As a leading supplier to the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets, Cherwell was very aware of the need to continually improve product quality and service. The Company was also aware of the need to increase production capacity and the occupancy of a 22,500 sq. ft unit gives significant scope for expansion.
A brand new ISO Class 7 Cleanroom suite has been constructed and covers over 5000 sq. ft. It represents a significant increase in controlled manufacturing space and, coupled with an investment in larger production equipment, allows Cherwell the opportunity to not only improve it's product quality but also offer larger batch sizes. This will satisfy the needs of the larger customers, however, maintaining manufacturing flexibility has been paramount. Therefore, the smaller scale manufacturing equipment has been retained.
Excellent product quality has always been a fundamental goal at Cherwell. The new suite offers better segregation between the various processes and together with improved operator gowning will contribute to a higher grade work area and further reductions in the background bioburden level.
The relocation of three sites onto one will also integrate all business functions and provide improved customer service. The Redipor range has for a long time being associated with excellent customer service, the consolidation onto one site allows an opportunity to seek further improvements.
