Cherwell Labs celebrates 40th anniversary
Cherwell secures Raven biological indicators distributorship
Cherwell Laboratories supply a range of chemical integrators and process indicators for a variety of healthcare and industrial processes including steam, ethylene oxide, gamma radiation and dry heat. The range also includes easy to use and interpret Bowie Dick (air removal) type tests.
Chemical integrators are placed within a pack or pouch to verify sterilisation conditions have been met at point of placement whilst process indicators are placed on the outside to distinguish between processed and unprocessed (sterilised and non-sterilised) items.
Note: Chemical integrators/process indicators are not intended to replace regular biological indicator testing.
A Class 5 integrator intended for use in steam sterilisers and designed to accurately depict the lethality of sterilisation cycles at 121°c and 135°c by providing immediate visual confirmation of adequate steam penetration into packs.
As an integral part of a comprehensive sterility assurance program, ProChem SSIs are used to verify adequate steam penetration into every pack/pouch.
The indicator ink changes from white to black during steam sterilisation at a time equivalent to or beyond the time needed to kill biological indicators.
ProChem Steam Steriliser Emulator Indicator strips are intended for use with multiple steam sterilisation cycles and are placed at a location in the package considered most difficult for steam to reach. ProChem SSEs provide visual confirmation that sterilisation conditions have been met at the point of placement in the steriliser chamber.
Dry heat indicator labels help to eliminate personnel error and confusion by enabling immediate identification of processed and unprocessed items.
The adhesive backed labels are easily applied and are printed with a chemical indicator that changes from green to brown when exposed to dry heat conditions.
A visual indicator which changes colour from purple to green when exposed to ethylene oxide (EO) sterilisation.
All our air removal (Bowie Dick type) tests use lead free ink on the indicator sheets making them safer for medical personnel and the environment. They are also easy to interpret featuring a distinct, non-reversible colour change. A pass is indicated by a uniform black colour over the entire pattern of the indicator sheet whereas a fail is indicated by a failure of the pattern to change completely to black / a lighter colour in the centre of the pattern than around the edges.
A pre-assembled, disposable air removal test pack intended to evaluate the performance of the air removal (vacuum) system of pre-vacuum equipped steam sterilisers. After exposure, the indicator sheet can be removed from the pack and kept for your records.
ProChem B-D test packs feature a distinct, non-reversible pink to black colour change and meet AAMI, EN-867-3 and ISO 11140 air removal standards.
Individual Bowie Dick type test sheets which are placed within a stack of surgical towels which have been assembled according to AAMI guidelines. ProChem BD110 Bowie Dick type test sheets meet AAMI, EN 867-3 and ISO 11140 air removal standards and feature a distinct, non-reversible blue to black colour change
A Bowie Dick type test pack which uses less paper than many alternative brands. ProChem BD-EN test packs feature a distinct, non-reversible yellow to black colour change and are specially formulated to meet EN 867-4 class B and ISO 11140-4 class 2 standards.
