A number of Cherwell staff are currently in training for forthcoming charity events. Cherwell Laboratories wishes everyone involved in these events all the best with their training and fundraising efforts. A cake sale and raffle will also be held on Wednesday 22nd May, with all proceeds being shared between the 3 charities.
Bure to Bure - 4th & 5th May 2013
Alan Green, one of our Production Team will be cycling 165 miles over 2 days from Bure Park Golf Course, Great Yarmouth to Bure Park Primary School, Bicester.
Alan is completing this challenge in aid of Rosie's Rainbow Fund, who aim to:
- Provide music therapy and expression through music, art, and play for sick or disabled children - Fund research into childhood diseases with special emphasis on respiratory and cardiac diseases - Fund support for families who have children in hospital and where necessary to provide bereavement support
Karen Munson, our Marketing Assistant will be walking the 100km (63 mile) London 2 Brighton Challenge starting in Richmond-Upon-Thames at 8am on 25th May and finishing approximately 24 - 27 hours later in Brighton.
Karen is completing the challenge in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation. a charity which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
8 members of Cherwell staff (Neil Samuels, Phil Lake, Siobhan Nelson, Rowena Wall, Gillian Teague, Michelle Hennah, Jason Cottingham and Sian Whittard) have formed "Team Cherwell" to face the challenge of a 27 mile trek in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Team Cherwell have chosen to support The British Heart Foundation to help fund research projects around the UK that are fighting heart disease whilst keeping the UK public informed with up-to-date information.
