Grand Union Canal Challenge - 28th June 2014

ataxiaukKaren Munson, our Marketing Assistant will be walking the 100km (62 mile) Grand Union Canal Challengeon 28th June 2014. Starting in Paddington, London, Karen will be walking through the day and night before finishing in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.


Karen is completing the challenge in aid of Ataxia UK. a charity with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for the ataxias. Ataxia UK also support people through a range of services and work to improve treatment & care for people affected by ataxia.

Ataxia is the name given to a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination, and speech. There are many different types of ataxia that can affect people in different ways. Around 10,000 adults in the UK have a type of ataxia & it's thought there are several thousand children with the condition. Some forms of ataxia are treatable, but in most cases there is still no cure. Ataxia UK have set themselves the ambitious target of finding a cure for one or all of the ataxias by 2020 - this is known as their "2020 Vision".
