Over the Christmas 2016 and New Year period, staff at Cherwell Laboratories continued their fundraising efforts, with thoughts turning to those that are less fortunate than we are.
As well as donating to Bicester Foodbank, the team at Cherwell have managed to raise over £240 during their Christmas 2016 raffle. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our fundraising raffle by donating prizes and purchasing raffle tickets. The amount staff raised was matched and rounded up to £500 by Cherwell Laboratories.
Cherwell have added £1,000 to this amount by making a charitable donation rather than sending Christmas cards to customers and suppliers.
This brings the total raised to £1,500! This total will be split equally between the following charities, which were proposed by several different members of staff at Cherwell:
Staff at Cherwell have also been collecting their old Christmas cards for recycling through M & S, who are working with The Woodland Trust. For every 1,000 cards recycled through one of their collection points, M & S pledge to fund the planting of one tree. They have a target to plant 6,000 native trees in the UK this year. This easy way to recycle Christmas cards we have received over the last month, will help to ensure our countryside is rich in native woods and trees, for our friends and our native wildlife.
Once again, thank you to everyone for their generosity and for helping Cherwell to support such worthy causes.
