2021 Christmas Charity Fundraising

By Gill Power

Over the 2021 Christmas period the team here at Cherwell continued their fundraising efforts for charities close to their heart.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Cherwell that participated in the fundraising raffle by either buying raffle tickets or donating prizes. Staff members managed to raise £200 during their Christmas 2021 raffle.

Cherwell matched the amount raised by staff and rounded it up to make £500. Cherwell then added £1,000 to this amount in lieu of sending Christmas cards to customers and suppliers.

This brings the total value raised to £1,500, which will be split equally, to £500 for each of the following charities, which were selected by Cherwell staff:

Endometriosis UK - Endometriosis devastates the lives of not only those with the disease but also their families. One in ten women and those assigned female at birth endure unrelenting pain that affects every aspect of their lives each day. That’s over 1.5 million who desperately need support and information to help them understand this chronic condition. Endometriosis UK are there to provide vital support services, reliable information and a community for those affected by endometriosis.

Guide Dogs for the Blind - Guide Dogs are there to help people with sight loss live the life they choose. 1 in 5 people will live with significant sight loss in their lifetime. Every six minutes in the UK, one more person loses their sight. The experts staff, volunteers and life-changing dogs at Guide Dogs are there to help people with sight loss live actively, independently and well. As well as supporting adults with visual impairment, they also provide specialist advice for visually impaired children and their families.

Mind - Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. They won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect. Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. Mind believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They'll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.
